If you are an installer based in Scotland and looking to become MCS certified, find the information you need to access the MCS Certification Fund below.
The Fund is an initiative by the Scottish Government, supports heating engineers who are wanting to transition away from installing fossil fuel boilers to heat pumps (either air, ground or water source). It provides them with a grant to become MCS certified for heat pumps.

The MCS Certification Fund will pay 75%, up to a maximum of £1,000, of the certification fees and will run until funds run out or until the end of March 2026 – whichever comes first.
To apply for the MCS Certification Fund, you must:
