Operating as an MCS Certification Body

Find the information you need to deliver MCS as a Certification Body.

MCS Certification Bodies operate under an agreement held directly with MCS, allowing them to deliver the scheme in line with MCS requirements. 

For those offering the redeveloped installer scheme, these requirements are outlined in the MCS-CB agreement. 

A condition of operating under the agreement is that the Certification Body must gain and maintain its accreditation for MCS from UKAS (or an equivalent), to ensure it can operate the scheme within the ISO/IEC 17065 framework.

Following the conformity assessment processes outlined in the relevant standards and scheme documents when assessing and certifying installers and products. The product and installer scheme each have their own processes, as governed by the relevant standards and scheme documents.

MCS Icon - Contractor

Adhering to the processes outlined in MCS 001-2 (The Certification Process). MCS installer Certification Bodies offering the redeveloped scheme, must adhere to the processes outlined in the Conformity Assessment Guidelines.

Adhering to the processes outlined in MCS 010 (Generic Factory Production Control and Product Quality Requirements) and MCS 011 (Acceptance Criteria for Testing Required for Product Certification).

Complying with the terms of use of the MCS Mark, ensuring MCS Brand Guidelines are being adhered to, under the relevant agreement with MCS.

This data is presented within the MCS find an installer search and product directory, both tools used widely within the sector.
