Becoming an MCS Installer Certification Body

  • Accreditation to ISO17065 for relevant MCS technologies.
  • Permission to operate as an MCS Installer Certification Body via a formal MCS CB Agreement.

1) Familiarise yourself and any employees with the requirements that CBs will certify against, including MCS Standards, Scheme requirements, and particularly the Conformity Assessment Guidelines.

2) Contact MCS Scheme management with your enquiry using the form below, including details of your business and which accreditation you are looking to pursue.

3) MCS Scheme Management department will pick up your request and will outline the next steps. This normally begins with an introduction to discuss the enquiry and to outline the application process in more detail, answering any questions you may have.

4) A formal application will need to be submitted in writing to the MCS Head of Scheme for review, along with any accompanying documentation. The application will consider the suitability of the applicant, the market needs for new certification bodies, the alignment of objectives and the impact on MCS resources.

5) MCS Head of Scheme will assess the application documents and evaluate if provisional acceptance can be offered.

6) If successful, the Head of Scheme will produce a formal letter of approval with a favourable recommendation. The letter of approval can then be included in an application to UKAS to add MCS to the schedule of ISO17065 accreditation.

7) Once a Certification Body can evidence accreditation, MCS will issue the MCS Certification Body Agreement to be signed by MCS and the Certification Body.
